Senior Network Engineer

Requirements:- CCNA certification required; CCNP preferred
- Around five years of network engineering experience, with a strong Cisco routing and switching background
- Good knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP and BGP, as well as WAN, MPLS and VPN technologies
- Firewall and network security experience, ideally with Cisco ASA and/or Palo Alto
- Experience with SD-WAN, ideally Aruba EdgeConnect/Silver Peak, Cisco ISE or wireless design, is desirable
- Full UK driving licence for occasional travel to UK sites
- Provide first- and second-line network support through ServiceNow incidents and requests
- Install, configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls and wireless access points
- Maintain Cisco ISE, Infoblox, Cisco WLC, LiveNX and HPE Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN
- Deliver network projects, including hardware refreshes, legacy replacement and new site commissioning
- Support connectivity for manufacturing and OT systems, including CNC equipment
- Raise and implement changes in line with ITIL processes, and keep network documentation up to date

We are a global engineering and manufacturing business operating in the rail sector. Our UK operation is part of a large international group, combining corporate IT with live manufacturing and operational technology environments. This is a 12-month contract covering the UK Senior Network Engineer during a secondment. Based at our Sandiacre, Nottingham site, the role provides hands-on network leadership across UK sites, supports the wider EMEA team and combines day-to-day support with infrastructure projects. The position offers up to £465 per day, inside IR35 and paid via PAYE, 25 days of paid holiday plus bank holidays, and a Monday-to-Friday site-based schedule. You will join a supportive UK IT team and gain exposure to enterprise, data centre, cloud and manufacturing OT networks. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified people.
