Senior Platform Backend Engineer
Summary
Build and maintain AWS-based backend services and cloud-native infrastructure in Python, using Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines to support energy storage systems.

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate backend services, internal platforms, and shared infrastructure
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable production code primarily in Python
- Architect and operate AWS-based, cloud-native systems with an emphasis on reliability and security
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Enable and support data platforms, analytics systems, and ML‑adjacent workloads
- Build and evolve CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure code
- Establish and maintain observability standards using metrics, logs, and alerts
- Participate in on‑call rotations and lead root cause analysis
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in platform engineering, backend engineering, data engineering, CloudOps, or SRE roles
- Strong backend development experience building production services
- Significant hands‑on experience with AWS (VPC, IAM, EKS/ECS, RDS, S3)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or CloudFormation)
- Experience operating containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes
- Solid understanding of CI/CD, Git‑based workflows, and automated testing
- Experience working with relational databases and data‑intensive systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience on data platform, analytics, or ML infrastructure teams
- Familiarity with event‑driven architectures, messaging systems, or streaming data patterns
- Experience building or evolving internal developer platforms or shared infrastructure services
