Senior Platform Software Engineer
Build and operate OCI’s business-critical Key Management Service to protect customer data through secure cryptographic key lifecycle management and reliable, cloud-scale security infrastructure. Drive technical initiatives across the stack, from cryptographic-hardware integration to cloud-scale distributed-systems architecture. Design secure, scalable, highly available services that meet rigorous reliability, compliance, and performance requirements and partner across OCI to deliver production-ready security infrastructure for critical cloud services.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Development
- Design, build, test, debug, and operate components of OCI Key Management Service (KMS), a business-critical cryptographic service that protects customer data across OCI.
- Develop secure, scalable, and maintainable software for key lifecycle management, cryptographic operations, encryption-at-rest, and service integrations.
- Contribute to distributed systems components, backend workflows, API design, and HSM-backed capabilities.
Reliability & Operational Readiness
- Improve availability, performance, and resilience through testing, observability, automation, capacity planning, and operational tooling.
- Troubleshoot production issues, participate in on-call support and incident response, and implement durable reliability improvements.
- Create and maintain technical designs, runbooks, and operational documentation.
Engineering & Collaboration
- Follow secure software-development practices, conduct code reviews, and contribute to design, testing, and performance optimization.
- Partner with engineers, architects, and OCI service teams to integrate KMS capabilities into critical cloud services.

- Diagnose and resolve complex software, distributed-systems, and production issues using data, logs, metrics, and sound engineering judgment.

- Build expertise in cloud security, cryptography, distributed systems, and operational excellence; apply learnings to improve service reliability, engineering practices, and customer outcomes.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $92,500 to $209,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
