Join Secure Agility in a senior customer-facing architecture role designing and commercially shaping managed cloud, infrastructure and technology services for enterprise and government customers.

Key selling points

  • Own end-to-end managed services solutions across Azure, AWS, hybrid cloud, infrastructure and cybersecurity

  • Senior customer-facing role with real ownership of architecture, SOWs, commercials and solution strategy

  • Join a growing Australian MSP, SI and MSSP with strong Microsoft, AWS and cybersecurity capability

About Secure Agility

Secure Agility is an Australian technology services provider delivering cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking and managed services to enterprise and government customers.

Our capabilities span:

  • Cybersecurity, including GRC, SOC, Incident Response and Penetration Testing

  • Cloud & Infrastructure, including Azure, AWS, private cloud, hybrid cloud and Kubernetes

  • Managed Cloud & Infrastructure Services

  • Digital Advisory & Managed Services

  • AI & IoT, including edge, automation and data integration

  • Telco, Connectivity & Secure Hosting

We combine consulting, systems integration and managed services capability, which means the solutions our architects design are backed by teams that can actually implement, operate and support them.

The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Pre-Sales Solutions Architect with strong experience designing and selling managed services within an MSP, MSSP, Systems Integrator or technology services environment.

This is not simply a cloud engineering role.

We need someone who understands how to take a customer's business and technology requirements and turn them into a complete, commercially viable managed service.

That could include:

Azure and AWS + Hybrid Infrastructure + Backup & DR + Monitoring + End User Computing + Security + Service Management + Support + Ongoing Managed Operations

You will sit at the intersection of Sales, Architecture and Delivery and take ownership of the technical solution from initial discovery through to proposal, commercial modelling, customer presentation and handover into delivery.

Public cloud is an important part of our managed services strategy, so you need genuine depth across Azure and/or AWS and a strong understanding of how cloud environments are designed, migrated, governed, secured, costed and operated as an ongoing managed service.

You might currently be working for an MSP, MSSP, Systems Integrator, cloud consultancy or large technology services provider and be looking for a role where you can have greater ownership and influence over the overall solution.

What you'll do

  • Lead technical discovery workshops with customers and uncover the business, technical, security and operational requirements behind an opportunity.

  • Translate customer requirements into clear, supportable and commercially viable managed services solutions.

  • Architect managed services across Azure, AWS, hybrid infrastructure, private cloud and customer data centres.

  • Design cloud landing zones, migrations and ongoing managed cloud operations.

  • Design solutions covering backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, monitoring, infrastructure management and cloud operations.

  • Design managed workplace and end-user computing services where required, including Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID and modern device management environments.

  • Understand how cybersecurity services integrate into the broader managed services solution.

  • Bring together cloud, infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, monitoring and support into a cohesive managed service rather than designing each component in isolation.

  • Define service scope, inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, dependencies, service boundaries and responsibilities.

  • Build Statements of Work that are clear enough for customers to understand and delivery teams to execute.

  • Develop solution cost models and work with Sales to create competitive commercial proposals.

  • Understand recurring managed services pricing, resource assumptions, licensing, third-party costs and gross margin.

  • Own the technical and commercial integrity of the solution.

  • Present solutions and architecture to CIOs, CTOs, IT Managers, Infrastructure Managers, Cloud teams and other senior stakeholders.

  • Defend your architecture and explain why the proposed solution is the right fit for the customer's environment and objectives.

  • Work with technology partners including Microsoft, CrowdStrike, Netskope and other strategic vendors.

  • Support opportunities from initial discovery through technical validation, proposal, customer presentation and successful deal closure.

  • Work closely with Engineering, Project Delivery, Service Delivery and Operations to ensure solutions can be implemented and supported effectively.

  • Hand designs cleanly into delivery and remain involved during mobilisation where required.

  • Balance customer outcomes with commercial viability, ensuring solutions are technically robust, operationally supportable, competitive and profitable.

What you'll bring

Managed Services experience

We are specifically looking for someone who has worked in an MSP, MSSP, Systems Integrator, cloud consultancy or similar technology services organisation.

You should understand how managed services are designed, priced, sold, transitioned and operated.

This includes experience across areas such as:

  • Managed cloud

  • Managed infrastructure

  • Monitoring and alerting

  • Backup and disaster recovery

  • Service desk and support

  • End-user computing

  • Infrastructure management

  • Cloud operations

  • Security services

  • Service management

  • SLAs and service levels

  • Service transition and mobilisation

You understand the difference between designing a technology project and designing an ongoing managed service.

Cloud architecture

You will bring strong public cloud knowledge, particularly across Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.

This should include experience with areas such as:

  • Cloud landing zones

  • Cloud migrations

  • Hybrid cloud architecture

  • Identity and access

  • Networking and connectivity

  • Security and governance

  • Backup and disaster recovery

  • Monitoring and observability

  • Cloud operating models

  • Cost management and optimisation

  • Cloud consumption modelling

  • Ongoing managed cloud operations

You do not need to be the engineer configuring every component, but you need enough technical depth to confidently architect the solution, challenge assumptions and lead the customer conversation.

Pre-Sales and Solutions Architecture

You will have significant experience, typically 8+ years or equivalent depth, across solution architecture, consulting or technical pre-sales.

You should be comfortable:

  • Running customer discovery sessions

  • Whiteboarding solutions

  • Developing high-level and detailed solution designs

  • Writing Statements of Work

  • Preparing proposals

  • Defining scope and assumptions

  • Identifying technical and commercial risks

  • Presenting to technical and executive stakeholders

  • Supporting sales teams through complex opportunities

  • Responding to tenders and RFPs

  • Working through technical objections

  • Taking ownership of the technical solution through to closure

Commercial capability

This is important.

A good architecture is not enough if the customer cannot afford it or we cannot successfully deliver and support it.

You should understand:

  • Managed services pricing

  • Gross margin

  • Recurring revenue models

  • Licensing and cloud consumption costs

  • Resource assumptions

  • Third-party costs

  • Project versus recurring charges

  • Commercial trade-offs

  • Scope control

You do not need to be an accountant, but you should be commercially comfortable and understand the financial impact of the architecture you design.

Customer leadership

You will have the seniority and presence to lead customer conversations.

You should be able to take a complex technical subject and explain it differently depending on whether you are speaking with an engineer, IT Manager, CIO, CFO or executive team.

You should be comfortable challenging customers when required and recommending a different approach where you believe it will produce a better outcome.

What we're looking for

  • Significant Solutions Architecture or Pre-Sales experience within an MSP, MSSP, Systems Integrator or technology services provider

  • Strong Azure and/or AWS architecture experience

  • Strong managed services experience

  • Hybrid cloud and infrastructure knowledge

  • Experience creating Statements of Work and customer proposals

  • Strong commercial and pricing literacy

  • Excellent customer-facing communication skills

  • Experience supporting complex technology sales opportunities

  • Ability to translate technology into business outcomes

  • Ability to work across Sales, Engineering, Delivery and Operations

  • Australian working rights

Nice to have

  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional

  • Microsoft infrastructure and security certifications

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Intune and Entra ID

  • Experience with CrowdStrike, Netskope or other modern cybersecurity platforms

  • Kubernetes or container platform exposure

  • Experience with FinOps or cloud cost optimisation

  • ITIL knowledge

  • Experience responding to enterprise or government tenders

  • Exposure to service transition and managed services mobilisation

  • Experience designing cybersecurity services as part of a broader managed services solution

Strong technology partnerships

Work alongside major cloud and cybersecurity vendors across Microsoft, AWS, CrowdStrike, Netskope and our broader partner ecosystem.

Variety

Work across a diverse enterprise and government customer base rather than being tied to one internal environment or narrow technology stack.

Influence
