Senior Product Designer
You'll sit at the intersection of product design, product thinking, and front-end engineering—taking early, ambiguous ideas and turning them into interactive, evaluable experiences fast, so teams can make better decisions sooner. This role is front-end and systems-heavy, blending hands-on building with product design partnership. You'll help scale and evolve Alchemy's UI system—owning core components, patterns, and implementation quality—while also jumping into product work when needed to unblock teams and raise the craft bar. You'll reduce handoff friction, increase prototype velocity, and elevate UI quality through hands-on building, close collaboration, and a strong point of view on systems.
Responsibilities
- Build production-quality prototypes and, when appropriate, ship production front-end code to validate UX direction quickly
- Own and evolve Alchemy's design system by building and maintaining reusable components, patterns, and interaction primitives
- Translate design intent into high-quality React/TypeScript UI with attention to spacing, hierarchy, motion, and interaction polish
- Identify gaps and ship additions that make the product ecosystem more consistent and faster to build
- Partner closely with product designers to improve the craft and feasibility of design work
- Collaborate tightly with product engineers to reduce rework and smooth the path from prototype to implementation
- Improve documentation, examples, and workflow across teams to raise the UI-building baseline
- Create interaction patterns and UI foundations that support rapid experimentation in AI-driven experiences
- Contribute to design-system adoption and quality including tokens, components, docs, accessibility standards, and tooling like Storybook
- Help teams iterate in short idea to prototype to decision cycles
Requirements
- Strong front-end fundamentals and comfort building interactive UI such as React and TypeScript
- Systems-minded builder who has shipped and maintained component libraries or design systems including tokens, components, documentation, and adoption
- A designer's eye for hierarchy, spacing, typography, interaction details, and visual polish
- Proven ability to prototype quickly without sacrificing craft and to choose the right fidelity for the question at hand
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and move fast with high ownership
- Clear communication across disciplines translating between design intent and technical constraints
- Accessibility fluency, Storybook or similar tooling, motion or animation experience, and experience scaling design systems are a bonus
