Summary
The Senior Program Manager will oversee the execution of complex, mission-critical software systems for defense contracts, managing budgets, schedules, and stakeholder relationships. The role requires extensive experience in software project management and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

SciTec is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead and oversee execution of complex, mission-critical software systems within a defense environment. This role is responsible for ensuring that end-to-end design, development, system integration, verification, and validation efforts are executed with rigor, aligned to program objectives, and delivered on schedule and within budget.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience managing software-intensive defense programs, with the ability to coordinate across technical teams, customers, primes, and subcontractors; manage cost, schedule, and risk; and drive execution in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning and execution of design, development, integration and test activities across the program lifecycle
- Identify, assess, and mitigate program risk
- Drive change management activities, including analysis or impacts to scope, schedule, and cost
- Support technical leadership in requirements management, roadmap alignment, and execution planning
- Communicate customer information, including status updates, schedule changes, customer needs, and evolving requirements effectively to the technical staff and leadership
- Prepare and deliver program status reports, translating technical progress into actionable insights for leadership and customers
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including government customers, subcontractors, and internal leadership
- Manage subcontractors and external partners
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and program execution quality
- Manage overall program financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost‑control initiatives
- Support program reviews, demonstrations, and external engagements
- Support multiple customer stakeholders simultaneously
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred with a STEM or Business focus
- 15+ years of professional experience in software development project management
- Experience managing large, complex software or systems integration programs
- Experience with resource planning and staffing across multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to travel up to 25% for business purposes as assigned
- Strong problem-solving skills in complex, technical environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Active DoD security clearance

The pay range for this position is $182,000 to $232,000 per year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
