A. Design Management

• Manage and monitor the overall design development process from concept through detailed

design, tender, construction, and as-built stages.

• Establish and maintain the project design management procedures, workflows, and

responsibilities.

• Monitor the Design Consultant's performance against the approved scope, program,

deliverables, and contractual requirements.

• Review design submissions to ensure compliance with the approved project brief,

employer's requirements, project objectives, and applicable standards.

• Monitor design changes and assess their impact on cost, program, quality, functionality, and

constructability.

• Ensure proper management and documentation of design changes, comments, approvals,

and revisions.

B. Design Coordination

• Coordinate between architectural, structural, MEP, civil, landscape, infrastructure, specialist

systems, and other disciplines.

• Identify and resolve interdisciplinary design conflicts and interface issues.

• Lead design coordination meetings and ensure that agreed actions are properly recorded

and followed up.

• Review and monitor BIM coordination and clash detection processes where applicable.

• Ensure that design interfaces between the Design Consultant and Contractor are clearly

defined and effectively managed.

C. Supervision Consultant and Contractor Coordination

• Act as the Client/PMO's design management focal point with the Design Consultant.

• Coordinate with the Supervision Consultant regarding design-related issues arising during

construction.

• Monitor Contractor design submissions, shop drawings, material proposals, technical

submissions, and design-related RFIs from a design management perspective.

• Monitor the availability and adequacy of approved design information required for

construction activities.

• Ensure that design changes resulting from site conditions, coordination requirements are

properly documented and approved.

• Coordinate the close-out of outstanding design issues and ensure that final/as-built design

documentation is properly compiled.

D. Design Quality and Compliance

• Ensure that designs comply with the approved project brief, applicable local regulations,

international standards, authority requirements, and relevant codes.

• Review design documentation for completeness, consistency, coordination, and

constructability.

• Monitor design quality and identify potential risks or deficiencies at an early stage.

• Ensure that authority requirements and approvals are incorporated into the design

development process.

• Support value engineering initiatives while maintaining the required functionality, quality,

and architectural intent.

• Review proposed alternatives and assess their technical and functional implications.

E. Program and Commercial Coordination

• Monitor design activities against the master project program.

• Identify potential design-related delays and proactively develop mitigation measures.

• Coordinate with the planning team regarding design deliverables, approvals, procurement

requirements, and construction priorities.

• Identify design changes that may have cost or program implications and ensure appropriate

assessment and approval.

• Support the commercial team in assessing the technical implications of design changes and

variations.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree: Architecture Engineering.

• Minimum 10–15 years of overall professional experience, with substantial experience in

design management and coordination.

• Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary design teams and consultants.

• Previous experience on large-scale educational, university, healthcare, commercial, or

mixed-use projects is preferred.

• Experience working within an Owner/Client, PMO, Project Management Consultant, or

Design Management environment is highly desirable.

• Strong experience coordinating between Client, Design Consultant, Supervision Consultant,

and Contractor.

• Demonstrated experience in managing design during both pre-construction and construction

stages.

• Experience with BIM coordination and multidisciplinary design coordination is preferred
