Senior Python & AI Backend Developer (Freelance) — Milan area
We're looking for a senior Python backend developer to join a freelance project through Shakers, hybrid in the Milan area (2 days/week on-site in Segrate).
What you'll work on:
- Backend services in Python + FastAPI
- Agentic, multi-turn RAG architectures
- LlamaIndex and Gemini for retrieval-augmented generation
- PostgreSQL (pgvector + full-text search) and Redis as the data layer
What we're looking for:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, or a related field
- 3+ years of backend development experience with Python and FastAPI
- Hands-on experience with LlamaIndex and Gemini
- Experience with PostgreSQL (pgvector + FTS) and Redis
- Proven experience designing agentic, multi-turn RAG architectures
- Excellent English
- Good Italian (B2 minimum)
- Available 2 days/week on-site in Segrate (Milan area)
