Senior Python Software Engineer
Summary
Senior Python engineer building and supporting reliable Python-based systems for Cboe Europe's trading operations in London: creating new products with business teams, doing R&D, and providing production support. Core stack is Python, advanced SQL, and Linux, with preferred exposure to PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Kafka, Airflow, and web frameworks.
In this role you will help design and expand reliable Python-based systems that support Cboe Europe’s trading operations. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to build new products, explore R&D opportunities, and provide production support for trading platforms. You will join a global development team dedicated to testable, maintainable code and continuous innovation at the largest equities exchange in Europe. - Familiarity with advanced SQL techniques
- Strong Linux knowledge
- Knowledge of algorithms and data structures
- Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
- Experience with TDD, BDD or other testing methodologies (highly preferred)
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Snowflake (preferred)
- Familiarity with web frameworks such as Django, Flask or FastAPI (preferred)
- Familiarity with Apache Kafka (preferred)
- Familiarity with Apache Airflow (preferred)
- Familiarity with Java (preferred)
- Experience in financial domains (market data, order management, etc.) (preferred)
- Experience implementing an AI SDLC with tools like Claude Code or OpenAI Codex (desirable)
