Senior Python Software Engineer

Oslo, Norway (On-site / Office-first culture with some flexibility)

I am seeking Senior Python Software Engineers to join a fast-growing robotics company. Focused on long-term, stable engineering-led growth rather than venture-driven scaling and operating a high-autonomy engineering culture, building complex systems from the ground up rather than maintaining legacy infrastructure.

This is a highly technical environment suited to engineers who enjoy building scalable, production-grade systems rather than scripting, ad-hoc automation, or purely maintenance work. Building and improving core engineering systems across simulation, testing, tooling, and infrastructure that support robotics and autonomous systems.

Hiring across multiple Python tracks within the organisation, so if your Python expertise comes from any of the following, I want to hear from you: Test Automation Engineering, DevOps / Developer Tooling, Python Software Engineering (production systems in Linux-heavy environments).

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based systems for automation, tooling, and infrastructure
• Build and enhance test automation frameworks and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments
• Develop DevOps and developer productivity pipelines supporting engineering teams
• Work in Linux-based distributed systems environments
• Write production-grade software with strong focus on architecture, scalability, and maintainability
• Collaborate closely with robotics, autonomy, and systems engineering teams
• Contribute to simulation, testing, and infrastructure systems supporting UAV autonomy

Required Experience & Skills

• Strong Python engineering experience beyond scripting
• Experience designing and building larger software systems (OOP, modular design, scalable architecture)
• Exposure to one or more of the following: Test automation frameworks, DevOps / CI/CD tooling, Distributed systems or backend engineering, Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or simulation environments
• Comfortable working in Linux-based environments
• 4 to 10 years of experience with senior-level engineering capability

Less suitable for candidates focused purely on data science, lightweight scripting, or cloud/DevOps without strong systems engineering depth or production software experience.
