Senior QA Engineer - Mainframe Modernization

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer with strong Mainframe Testing experience and expertise in Python automation to support mainframe-to-AWS modernization projects. The candidate should have hands-on experience in validating legacy systems, data migration, parallel testing, and modernized cloud workloads.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute functional, regression, integration, performance, and migration testing.
• Analyze COBOL, JCL, PL/I, and mainframe business logic.
• Perform testing across DB2, IMS DB, VSAM, CICS, and batch jobs.
• Conduct parallel testing and validate data migration between Mainframe and AWS.
• Develop automation frameworks using Python (pytest, pandas, boto3) and Go.
• Validate APIs, batch processing, and database integrity.
• Work with AWS services, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation tools.
• Use AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor for test automation and analysis.
• Manage defects, test reports, and release sign-offs.

Mandatory Skills:

• 57 years of QA experience, including 4+ years in Mainframe Testing.
• Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS DB, VSAM, and CICS.
• Experience with TSO/ISPF, 3270, and CA-7/Control-M.
• Strong Python automation experience with pytest and pandas.
• Working knowledge of Go programming.
• Hands-on AWS knowledge (S3, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, DMS).
• Experience in SQL, data migration validation, and parallel testing.
• Knowledge of Git, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted testing tools.

Good to Have:

• Healthcare / US Insurance domain experience.
• Mainframe-to-cloud modernization experience.
• Knowledge of X12 EDI, HL7, or FHIR.
• AWS or ISTQB certifications.
