Job Description

We are looking for experienced QA professionals with strong hands-on Mainframe Testing knowledge to support our Mainframe-to-AWS Modernization program. The ideal candidates should have expertise in legacy mainframe technologies, Python and Go automation, AWS services, and AI-assisted testing.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Define and own test strategies, test plans and test coverage for mainframe modernization projects.
• Analyze COBOL, JCL, PL/I and copybooks to derive test scenarios and expected results.
• Perform functional, regression, integration and batch testing on mainframe applications.
• Execute parallel testing by comparing outputs between legacy mainframe and modernized AWS systems.
• Validate data migration from DB2, IMS, VSAM and flat files to AWS platforms.
• Verify batch job equivalence, job sequences, restart and recovery scenarios.
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Python (Pytest, Pandas) and Go.
• Perform API testing, performance testing and cutover validation.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify, track and resolve defects using Jira.
• Use AI-assisted tools for test case generation, automation scripting and test analysis.
• Collaborate with mainframe developers, cloud engineers and architects.
• Mentor QA engineers and provide technical guidance on mainframe testing and modernization practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5–10 years of overall software testing experience.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on Mainframe Testing experience.
• Strong understanding of COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, VSAM and CICS.
• Experience with Python automation and Pytest.
• Working proficiency in Go programming.
• Knowledge of AWS services such as S3, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, DMS and CloudWatch.
• Experience in parallel testing, data migration validation and batch equivalence testing.
• Strong SQL knowledge across DB2 and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with Git, Jira and CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants and AI-assisted testing tools.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in US Healthcare / Health Insurance / Payer domain.
• Knowledge of claims processing, eligibility and healthcare data.
• Experience in mainframe-to-cloud modernization or replatforming projects.
• Exposure to AWS Mainframe Modernization or AWS Transform.
• ISTQB, AWS or IBM Mainframe certifications are an added advantage.
