What You'll Be Doing / Responsibilities

• Strategy & Planning: Take ownership of performance, load and stress testing strategies for low‑latency software systems and supporting services.

• Deep‑Dive Analysis: Design and run complex performance tests simulating real‑world business scenarios such as massive request influx and data spikes. Analyze test results to identify bottlenecks within application code, network and infrastructure.

• Architecture Collaboration: Cooperate with software architects and SREs for capacity planning, set performance budgets and define non-functional requirements (NFRs).

• Test Tooling & Automation: Build and maintain performance test frameworks with JMeter, Gatling or k6, and integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Monitoring & Baseline Management: Define core performance KPIs, and cooperate with the monitoring team to build performance baselines and alert rules.

• Technical Mentorship: Guide team members on performance best practices and code-level optimization, and organize internal technical sharing.

Who We're Looking for / Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or related majors.

• Experience: Minimum 1 year full‑time experience in performance testing & performance engineering. Proven experience testing high‑concurrency, low‑latency systems.

• Technical Skills:

  1. Expert hands-on experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling) and APM platforms (Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace).

  2. Solid knowledge of system architecture and network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/2, WebSocket).

  3. Proficient in at least one language (Java, Scala, Python, Go) to develop customized test scripts and analysis tools.

  4. Capable of converting test data into clear, actionable optimization suggestions for developers and business stakeholders.

• Highly Preferred:

1. Hands-on experience with cloud-native performance testing on AWS, GCP or Azure.

2. Familiar with Linux performance analysis tools including perf, sar, vmstat.

3. Basic knowledge of performance-related security testing such as DDoS resistance verification.

4. Practical experience with chaos engineering principles and tools.
