Compensation: $135,000 – $150,000 + Bonus Incentive Eligible

Summary:

At Aptiv Interconnect, we inspire the world’s most innovative teams by doing the right thing, the right way. We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Core Engineering team responsible for managing Qualified Product List (QPL) products for Aptiv Interconnect.

QPL products are key to the Interconnect strategy ensuring we are compliant with government regulations and requirements for testing and certification of our products to the most stringent QPL testing and standards. With a broad list of QPL certifications across rectangular, circular, copper, fiber and RF connectors, Aptiv Interconnect is a world leader in this area.

The QPL engineer will manage the qualification with testing protocols and government regulations, interacting with sites across North America to ensure we maintain the critical qualification and certification requirements.

The QPL list ensures our leadership in the ‘high cost of failure’ area creating a large barrier to entry for competitors, and is critical for us to maintain our existing QPL and to add to our QPL products wherever possible.

Leadership & Core Responsibilities:

Strategic Ownership

• Maintain a current and comprehensive understanding of the full QPL picture for Aptiv Interconnect
• Present status, highlights and requirements to upper management regularly
• Communicate regularly with each site and business unit to identify opportunities and highlight required actions

QPL Testing

• Maintain and improve testing schedules over the multi year life cycle of the QPL testing process
• Ensure test laboratories are capable and available to test to the appropriate government requirements
• Develop and maintain relationships with the test labs and test houses both internally and externally to ensure our products are tested in a timely manner
• Develop and maintain relationships with the management teams responsible for manufacturing products for testing
• Ensure that orders are placed on manufacturing sites in a timely manner to allow for testing and validation to maintain qpl certification.

Position Requirements:

Education & Technical Qualifications

• Education: BS Engineering in relevant field, Project Management certification preferred
• 5 years experience in a related field, ideally connectivity
• Industry Domain:Experience in connectivity or related manufacturing industry. Deep knowledge of government or related regulated industry standards and procedures
• Regulatory Requirements: Must be a US Person, residing in the USA

Certifications & Competencies:

• Certifications: Related quality and project management certifications preferred
• Systems Proficiency: Experienced with project management techniques, ERP systems, planning methodologies
• Core Competencies: Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing, testing and qualification to government regulated industry standards.

• Base Salary Range: $135,000 – $150,000
