Senior Quality Engineer – Process Quality & Qualifications
Job Description Summary
The Industrialization team is responsible to create, maintain, and execute the standard in how to develop and industrialize manufacturing processes using a team-based approach. This role sits within and will work across the Industrialization team to build quality into the manufacturing process; ensuring process capability targets can be measured, met, deployed, and utilized for problem solving prior to, and in production. Build product quality processes to measure, meet, and deploy critical to quality product needs. And this role will also be the focal point to create, maintain, and execute the standard around qualifications.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop process quality and product quality techniques and implement across industrialization efforts
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of technical disciplines, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute policy/strategy and roadmap initiatives
- Focal point for new product introductions, part and technology transfers, new process introductions, and strategic plant and equipment investments; inclusive of lead time, technology selection, tooling, fixturing, programming, quality plan, and run-off of initial production sets
- Execute and own the qualifications of new products and processes enabling a successful hand-off to the production team
- Monitor initial process capabilities and problem solve shortcomings from expectation
- Manage project timelines to meet customer needs with a strong focus on safety, process capability, qualifications, and product quality
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers across the site
- Engineering, standardizing, and optimizing manufacturing processes
- Maintain and improve process documentation and facilitate best practice sharing across the site
- Participate in early design reviews for manufacturability
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) from an accredited university or college or a High School Diploma / GED with at least 4 years of in industrial quality
- Minimum of 6 additional years of experience in Production Process Control
- This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
