About the Role
Beyond Sports is looking for an experienced Senior React Native Engineer to help build and lead the mobile applications behind the future of sports entertainment. Working alongside partners including the NFL, NHL, FIFA, and Disney, you'll push the boundaries of real-time sports data, 3D graphics, and AI-driven storytelling across global mobile platforms.

This is a hands-on freelance contract opportunity combining technical guidance with direct code contribution. You'll work closely with Product Management, UX/UI designers, and backend teams to define mobile architecture and deliver outstanding cross-platform experiences for a global fan base.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute directly to mobile architecture, complex technical challenges, and critical delivery moments

• Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks across iOS and Android ecosystems

• Design native module integrations and refine state management strategies

• Streamline deployment pipelines across iOS and Android

• Champion engineering best practices, code quality standards, and mobile development processes

• Mentor peers and elevate team capabilities

• Work with React Native core, JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+), state management tools (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, React Query), and automated testing frameworks

Required Skills & Experience
Essential

• Proven senior-level experience owning complex features and delivering production-ready mobile apps

• Comprehensive hands-on experience with React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+), and native module integration

• Proficiency with modern state management libraries (e.g., Redux Toolkit, Zustand, React Query)

• Strong grasp of mobile UI design principles, performance optimization, and fluid user interactions

• Solid experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Native Testing Library)

• Proven ability to diagnose complex technical issues and optimize app performance across iOS and Android

• Excellent communication skills, with a track record of guiding peers and working cross-functionally

Desirable

• Experience configuring CI/CD pipelines for iOS (App Store Connect) and Android (Google Play Console)

• Hands-on experience writing native code (Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, or Java)

• Familiarity with real-time sports data streaming, WebSocket connections, or 3D graphics rendering
