Senior Regulatory Counsel
You will advise on India's regulatory framework, operationalize compliance requirements, manage regulatory submissions, and represent regulatory interests in cross-functional projects. You will advise Product, Tech, Risk, Legal, Finance, Operations, and Commercial stakeholders, negotiate agreements, mentor colleagues, and lead high-impact projects.
Responsibilities
- Monitor regulatory developments in India
- Advise on the impact and implementation of RBI circulars and policies
- Operationalize regulatory requirements
- Monitor ongoing compliance
- Provide legal and regulatory advice to internal stakeholders
- Manage regulatory filings and reporting obligations
- Represent the regulatory team on cross-functional projects
- Analyze and summarize regulatory policies and legislation
- Negotiate agreements with merchants, service providers, and partners
- Mentor junior colleagues
- Lead complex cross-functional projects
Requirements
- Indian legal qualification
- Fluent English
- 10+ years of post-qualification experience
- Regulatory or compliance experience with RBI-regulated entities
- Payments, banking, or financial services knowledge
- Acquiring and card network knowledge
- Policy analysis
- Stakeholder management
