Description

The Senior Sales Audit Analyst is responsible for ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of sales transactions and related financial data across JD Group's North American businesses, including JD Sports, Finish Line, Finish Line at Macy's, Shoe Palace, Nice Kicks, DTLR, and Hibbett.

In addition to executing complex sales audit and reconciliation activities, this position serves as a key contributor to the transformation of North American Sales Audit operations as five fascia-based teams transition into a unified shared services organization. This position requires a combination of analytical discipline, systems aptitude, project execution, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement expertise. The successful candidate will help enable the organization to maintain financial accuracy and operational effectiveness while reducing manual activities, improving throughput, and supporting a leaner staffing model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee complex daily sales, return, and tender transaction audits across assigned North American fascias, ensuring accurate data transmission from POS and e-commerce systems through Sales Audit platforms into Workday Accounting Center.
  • Investigate and resolve complex transaction discrepancies, reconciliation exceptions, tender mapping errors, missing sales batches, and other data integrity issues.
  • Validate sales transaction postings to Workday Accounting Center and General Ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established accounting controls.
  • Analyze daily reconciliation outputs, prioritize material exceptions, and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Lead assigned continuous improvement initiatives to streamline and standardize Sales Audit processes across the North American business.
  • Evaluate existing fascia-specific workflows, identify duplicative activities, unnecessary manual interventions, and inconsistent control practices, and recommend future-state solutions.
  • Conduct current-state and future-state process mapping, root-cause analysis, and workflow assessments to identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with IT, POS Support, Workday teams, and other technology stakeholders to define business requirements for automated reconciliations, exception handling, validation rules, and reporting.
  • Identify control gaps, inconsistent transaction handling, and recurring reconciliation issues; recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop standardized exception categorization, escalation procedures, ownership assignments, and resolution protocols.
  • Partner with Sales & Margin leadership to establish operational metrics, reporting routines, and governance practices that promote accountability and transparency.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by maintaining appropriate documentation and evidence of control execution.
  • Support team readiness and adoption of standardized workflows, new technologies, and updated control requirements.
  • Mentor and cross-train Sales Audit Analysts, sharing technical knowledge, analytical methods, and process improvement practices.
  • Present findings, risks, recommendations, and improvement results to Sales & Margin leadership.
