Senior Security Architect | Top-Tier Law Firm | Sydney CBD | Hybrid

Permanent | $200K – $225K package + bonus

We're working with one of Australia's leading professional services firms, an organisation with a history spanning more than 150 years and a genuinely global footprint across Asia, the UK and beyond, to find a Senior Security Architect for their Sydney team.

This is a newly created, additional role inside a mature, well-resourced Information Security function. You'll be the go-to technical voice for the wider security team, engineers, analysts and a GRC specialist, providing architecture guidance and technical mentorship, without needing formal people management experience. Reporting to the Information Security Manager, with a close working relationship to the Head of Information Security, you'll have genuine influence across a large, complex environment.

What you'll be doing

• Providing security architecture guidance across day-to-day solution and design reviews, assessing business needs and locking down minimum security and technical controls
• Building repeatable, reusable security patterns and reference architectures alongside Enterprise and Solution Architects
• Reviewing new and existing technology projects for compliance with architecture and security standards
• Guiding the high-level design of key initiatives including cloud migration (Azure), network segmentation and CASB/SASE adoption
• Acting as a trusted technical mentor for the security engineering, analyst and GRC team
• Bringing pragmatic, risk-based thinking to design decisions and staying close to emerging technology and threat trends, including Gen-AI and agentic AI

What you'll bring

Must-have:

• Strong Security Architecture experience, ideally with exposure to SABSA and/or TOGAF
• Broad technical grounding across firewalls, EDR, SIEM, threat hunting and incident response, with hands-on Azure experience highly regarded
• Solid networking knowledge, including micro-segmentation across on-prem and cloud environments
• Familiarity with the ASD Essential Eight and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks
• A self-driven, enthusiastic approach and excellent communication skills — equally comfortable with lawyers, business stakeholders and engineers

Nice to have

• SABSA or TOGAF certification
• Exposure to regulatory frameworks such as APRA CPS234/CPS230
