About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Architect to help shape the technical foundation of our web scraping and data acquisition platform. You’ll lead architectural decisions across distributed services, browser automation, proxy infrastructure, and large-scale data pipelines that power products used across multiple markets.

This is a hands‑on leadership role. We’re not looking for someone who only writes architecture documents—we’re looking for an engineer who enjoys designing systems, making pragmatic technical decisions, reviewing code, and working closely with a small, fast-moving team.

What You'll Do

• Design and maintain scalable software architecture for web scraping, data acquisition, and automation systems.
• Lead architectural decisions for distributed services, scraping infrastructure, browser automation, proxy management, and data pipelines.
• Define technical standards, development guidelines, and engineering best practices across teams.
• Improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Review system designs and code implementations to ensure architectural consistency and quality.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to turn requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Identify technical risks and drive long-term architecture improvements.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers in system design, performance optimization, and software engineering best practices.
• Evaluate and implement technologies related to cloud infrastructure, automation, and large-scale data processing.
• Work with AWS and GCP infrastructure and contribute to DevOps-related architecture decisions.
• Take ownership of technical challenges and help move the company’s platform forward.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, backend development, or software architecture.
• Proven experience designing and building scalable distributed systems or high-performance backend applications.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and Go.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, system design, networking, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with web scraping, browser automation frameworks (Playwright, Puppeteer, Selenium, or similar), or data acquisition systems is a strong advantage.
• Hands‑on experience with DevOps and cloud technologies (AWS and/or GCP).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and technical leadership abilities.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced startup environment with a high level of ownership.
• Responsible, dependable, proactive, and eager to keep learning.

Nice to Have

• Experience building web scraping, automation, or large-scale data acquisition platforms.
• Familiarity with distributed crawling systems, proxy networks, browser fingerprinting, or anti-bot infrastructure.
• Able to join immediately or within a short notice period.
• Not currently under contract with another company.
