Senior Software Engineer - Data
Summary
Build and maintain large-scale distributed data systems and pipelines for blockchain analytics using Scala, Spark, Databricks, AWS, and Kubernetes.
You will design, build, and maintain large-scale distributed data systems and pipelines that support blockchain analytics products. You will work hands-on with Scala, functional programming, Spark, Databricks, AWS, Airflow, Kubernetes, and Terraform while contributing to architecture, technical decisions, reliability, and engineering standards.
Responsibilities
- Write, ship, and maintain production code
- Architect, design, and implement large-scale distributed data systems and pipelines
- Contribute to technical decisions across batch and streaming data solutions
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and intelligence analysts
- Explore and integrate technologies to optimize performance and scalability
- Own data systems from design through deployment and ongoing support
- Perform peer reviews and share engineering best practices
- Improve platform reliability, observability, and cost efficiency
- Shape the technical roadmap for data engineering
- Leverage and deploy AI and agentic systems
Requirements
- Hands-on production experience with Scala and functional programming
- Ability to design, build, and maintain distributed data systems in cloud-based environments
- Hands-on experience with Spark or Databricks
- Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Ability to balance scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Experience with data modelling and workflow orchestration
