About the role Faire is expanding its team with a Senior Software Engineer to enhance the Insider membership program. This role focuses on developing and maintaining core services that deliver exclusive benefits to retailers. You will play a key part in shaping how members experience value through discounts, free shipping, and other premium features.

What you'll do
- Take ownership of critical backend services for the Insider membership program, primarily using Kotlin.
- Work with Data Science, Product, and Design teams to develop, test, and implement improvements to the Insider user experience.
- Analyze program performance using experimentation and data analytics to increase active Insiders, GMV per Insider, and enrollment rates.
- Integrate Insider benefits across various customer touchpoints, including cart, checkout, discovery, and post-order pages, to ensure members utilize their savings.
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to team best practices in areas like design reviews, performance optimization, and system architecture.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in backend systems development.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Java, or similar object-oriented languages.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, service design, and performance tuning.
- Experience integrating with machine learning-driven decision systems, experimentation frameworks, or real-time data pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills and a history of collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Data Scientists and Product Managers, to deliver complex systems.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
