About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer within the GrabX team, you will play a pivotal role in the development of an innovative centralized platform designed for product configuration and experimentation. This position emphasizes the creation of a robust infrastructure that empowers internal teams to manage product functionalities and conduct tests without necessitating new deployments of code. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of Grab's product offerings.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement new features for the experimentation platform utilizing technologies such as GoLang, MySQL, S3, and REST APIs.
  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, which includes coding, testing, conducting peer reviews, and managing deployment processes.
  • Participate in design and code reviews to uphold high engineering standards and best practices.
  • Take part in on-call rotations to address, troubleshoot, and resolve any platform-related issues that may arise.
  • Enhance the performance of the platform, expand its feature set, and improve the user interface for a better user experience.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including Requests for Comments (RFCs) and Root Cause Analyses (RCAs).
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and refine technical solutions that meet business needs.
  • Engage in continuous learning and stay updated with industry trends to bring innovative ideas to the team.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development through knowledge sharing and guidance.
  • Work closely with product managers to ensure alignment between technical capabilities and business objectives.
  • Analyze and optimize existing code to improve performance and maintainability.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in software development.
  • A solid understanding of engineering best practices and design patterns.
  • Capability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
  • Proficiency in GoLang, including hands‑on experience with goroutines and its standard libraries.
  • Experience in managing MySQL databases, along with the ability to write complex and efficient queries.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git, including knowledge of branching strategies and deployment workflows.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Experience with cloud storage solutions, particularly Amazon S3.
  • Knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Experience in working within an Agile development environment.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
