Role: Senior Software Engineer

Location: Galway(Hybrid)

We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-performing technology team in Galway, working on the design, development and implementation of modern applications within a large-scale financial technology environment.

This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on AWS and backend development, offering the opportunity to work on scalable, production-grade applications while contributing to engineering excellence and technology innovation.

What We're Looking For

• Strong commercial experience as a Senior Software Engineer.
• Excellent experience with Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka and middleware technologies.
• Frontend experience with HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, Angular and NGRX.
• Strong AWS experience and exposure to cloud-based application development.
• A strong focus on clean code, automated testing and maintainable software.
• Stronger backend expertise is preferred, with the role being approximately 80% backend / 20% frontend.

What You'll Be Working On

• Design, develop and implement scalable software applications.
• Write clean, testable and maintainable code.
• Build and enhance backend services using Java, Spring Boot and Kafka.
• Develop and integrate modern frontend applications.
• Work with AWS to build and deploy cloud-based solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
