Role Title: Senior Software Engineer II

Position Summary:

We are seeking an exceptional full stack engineering talent to lead the development of Marriotts next-generation hospitality web portal for real time personalization squad. The successful candidate will design, build, and deliver scalable enterprise applications using a state-of-the-art React-based micro-frontend architecture. You will collaborate with product owners, UX designers, engineers, and QA teams to create innovative components and workflows, leveraging GenAI tools to enhance productivity and user experience.

In this role, you will contribute to both front-end and back-end development, ensuring the platform performs optimally across all modern browsers and devices. You will also participate in the design and implementation of modular, maintainable, and high-performance microservices that power our platform. Job Responsibilities:

IT Governance;

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications and reusable component libraries using React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
• Architect and implement Micro-Frontend solutions, integrating seamlessly with Headless CMS platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to deliver modular and scalable digital experiences.
• Develop and integrate GraphQL and RESTful APIs, ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient communication between frontend and backend services.
• Optimize frontend applications for performance, scalability, accessibility (WCAG), SEO, and Core Web Vitals, delivering exceptional user experiences across devices and browsers.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, UX/UI Designers, QA Engineers, Backend Engineers, Architects, and cross-functional teams to design, build, and deliver intuitive, responsive, and user-centric features across multiple form factors.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and proactively recommend alternative technical solutions that improve usability, maintainability, and overall system performance.
• Champion an AI-first engineering culture by leveraging GenAI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar technologies to accelerate software development, improve code quality, automate testing, and optimize engineering workflows.
• Evaluate, integrate, and customize AI-powered solutions to enhance developer productivity, automate repetitive engineering tasks, and improve overall software delivery efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to incorporate Generative AI across the software development lifecycle, including application development, testing, deployment, documentation, and operational workflows.
• Participate in and lead code reviews, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices, coding standards, security guidelines, and maintainable software design principles.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex production issues through structured root-cause analysis, while continuously improving application stability, reliability, and performance.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers by promoting engineering best practices, modern frontend development techniques, effective use of AI-assisted development tools, and continuous learning.
• Stay current with emerging frontend technologies, cloud-native architectures, AI innovations, and industry best practices, proactively recommending improvements that enhance engineering capabilities.
• Foster strong collaboration and maintain effective communication with engineering teams, product stakeholders, business partners, and leadership to successfully deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Follows all defined IT standards and processes (i.e. IT Governance, SM&G, Architecture, etc.), and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed
• Maintains a proper balance between business and operational risk
• Follows the defined project management standards and processes

Skill and Experience :

• 6+ years of professional experience in software design and development, with strong expertise in modern web technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, Next.js, and Node.js.
• Proven experience designing and developing scalable, cloud-native microservices using micro-frontend and distributed architectures.
• Hands-on experience leveraging GenAI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar AI-assisted engineering platforms to improve developer productivity and code quality.
• Strong experience building and integrating GraphQL and RESTful APIs to develop robust, scalable, and secure enterprise applications.
• Deep understanding of React fundamentals, including Hooks, component lifecycle, state management (Redux, MobX, Zustand, React Context), Server-Side Rendering (SSR), asynchronous programming, and modern frontend architecture patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, release management, containerization (Docker), Kubernetes/AWS EKS, and application lifecycle management using Git, including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, and merge conflict resolution.
• Experience building enterprise-scale web applications using Micro-Frontend architecture and integrating frontend applications with Headless CMS platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar CMS solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience developing responsive, reusable, and maintainable user interfaces using React and modern frontend frameworks.
• Experience configuring and optimizing Webpack, Vite, or other modern build tools, including custom bundling strategies and plugin development where applicable.
• Strong understanding of frontend and backend performance optimization, including Core Web Vitals, rendering performance, API optimization, bundle size reduction, lazy loading, caching, and scalability best practices.
• Experience writing and maintaining unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using frameworks such as Jest, Jasmine, Mocha, JUnit with Mockito, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Solid understanding of application performance bottlenecks, production troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing sustainable performance improvements.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills, with experience working in Agile/Scrum environments to deliver high-quality software solutions.
