Our client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to sit within the cloud-based data and analytics engine behind several of their flagship programs the systems quietly making the energy transition work in the background. They're after a Senior Engineer who can own that end to end: spot the issue in a complex, business-critical system, diagnose it properly, break it into clear tasks, and mentor a junior developer through delivering the fix.

What you'll actually be doing:
- Diagnosing defects and problems across large, complex, integrated systems not just fixing what's already been flagged
- Designing and building cloud-based software components on AWS, end to end
- Breaking complex work into clear, actionable tasks and supporting junior developers through delivery (plus regular code reviews).
- Working directly with stakeholders to shape solutions and get them endorsed by leadership.
- Helping lift coding standards and practices across the wider team.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive hands-on Python development experience.
- Extensive experience deploying and operating complex software in AWS.
- Strong fundamentals with Git, GitHub Actions and a solid IDE workflow.
- Strong analytical chops; you can pull apart a gnarly production issue and explain it clearly to people who aren't engineers.
