Senior Software Engineer
OVERVIEW
The Senior Software Engineer will initially focus on analyzing, enhancing, and maintaining an existing Excel Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)-based tool used for generating CRUD matrices and related design deliverables. Following the detailed design phase, the successful candidate will continue supporting development and testing using Java/JSP and related technologies. The candidate is also expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-quality business solutions.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Analyze, enhance, and maintain complex Excel VBA tools used for CRUD matrix generation, including impact analysis, debugging, performance optimization, and testing.
Support application development and maintenance activities using Java, JSP, SQL, and related technologies, implementing system enhancements and modifications based on business and project requirements.
Execute unit, integration, and system testing activities, manage defects, perform root cause analysis, and support quality assurance reviews.
Promote software development best practices, including automated testing and continuous integration, while ensuring adherence to coding standards, documentation guidelines, and maintainable design principles.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation and actively contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance team productivity and long-term solution supportability.
Collaborate closely with project managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
Stay current with emerging technologies, development practices, and Generative AI concepts, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and automation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Possesses a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of software development experience, with strong expertise in Java / JSP development and proven hands-on experience in VBA development.
Demonstrated experience in Excel VBA development, including complex macro analysis, debugging, performance optimization, and testing.
Strong Java development experience using Spring, JSP, and related technologies, with the ability to analyze existing code, understand business requirements, and implement effective solutions.
Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL), CRUD analysis, data modeling, and Entity-Relationship diagrams.
Proficiency in using version control tools such as Git and similar source code management systems.
Proven experience working within a Waterfall software development environment.
