Senior Software Engineer
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Software Engineer to join our team in San Antonio, TX.
The Linux Orchestration Services (LOS) team which is the standard of excellence for all things Linux within the organization. The selected candidate will play a critical role in overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s cloud-compute infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Linux Operating System and automation technologies.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop prototypes, models, or conceptual designs to innovate solutions for mission requirements.
- Evaluate new and existing technologies to solve operational problems effectively.
- Identify capability gaps and innovate mitigations to address these gaps.
- Evaluate, develop, or test computer code and tools to achieve performance objectives.
- Apply computer security principles to ensure robust mitigation of various attack vectors.
- Utilize general knowledge of data models and protocols to conduct agile DevOps via Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) principles.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 12 years OR associate’s degree with 15 years OR 20 years (no degree requirement) of relevant Software Engineering experience
- Proficient in Linux systems & Strong skills in languages such as Python, JSON, Yaml, Bash, etc.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS/Lambda, Azure, Google Cloud Provider) or Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) technologies
- Expertise in automation tools (such as Ansible) and frameworks for streamlining processes and workflows
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, ECS (Elastic Container Service), EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service), etc.
- Proficient in version control systems like GIT and skilled in maintaining comprehensive documentation for developed capabilities
- Knowledge of applying DISA STIG standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite and Red Hat Image Builder
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) Certificate
- Microsoft Azure products, VMWare (VSphere), OpenStack
- Experience/Knowledge of Virtual Desktop deployment and configuration automation (Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Salt, etc.)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Expertise in managing and arranging JIRA projects, backlogs, sprints.
- Postgres, JavaScript, HTML, web/frontend
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have a current/active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to collaborate with other leaders/teams, use standard office automation equipment, and virtual communication
