Senior Software Engineer at Nucleos will build AchieveDXP, an edtech platform delivering education and workforce training into correctional facilities. Day-to-day is hands-on full-stack work: React/TypeScript frontend, Node 22/Express services on PostgreSQL, a Rust network proxy, and Azure Kubernetes infrastructure, working directly with the founding team.

**About Nucleos** Nucleos builds AchieveDXP, a secure digital experience platform that brings education, workforce training, and career tools into correctional facilities and other high security environments. More than 15,000 learners across 55+ facilities in 11 states use our platform, with access to 190+ integrated education and workforce apps. Our work helps people build skills, earn credentials, set career goals, and find real job satisfaction, and it measurably reduces recidivism. Nucleos is part of iT1, so you get startup ownership with the stability of a larger partner. **The role** We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer: a hands-on builder who ships across the stack and raises the bar for everyone around them. You will work directly with the founding team, own features end to end, and help shape the product itself, not just the code. As the company scales, this role has a clear growth path into technical leadership. **What you will build** - Product features across our React + TypeScript frontend and Node 22 + Express services backed by PostgreSQL - Our Rust network proxy (Tokio/Actix) that keeps learner devices safe and compliant - Infrastructure on Azure Kubernetes - Browser automation and our Chrome extension that adapt third party education apps for secure environments **About you** - 5+ years building and shipping production web software - A rigorous problem solver who owns hard bugs and ambiguous requirements until they are truly done - Communicates clearly with teammates, customers, and partners, and is comfortable getting on a call with a customer to figure out what they actually need - Creative: finds paths around constraints most engineers never see (locked down networks, offline environments, strict security requirements) - Product vision: thinks about what should be built, not only how - Nice to have: experience collaborating with distributed or offshore teams (we work daily with our development team in India) - Authorized to work in the United States or a US territory (required) **Compensation and location** - $135,000 to $165,000 base plus performance bonus - Fully remote, anywhere in the US or its territories
