Senior Software Engineer

Salary: Day rate up to $1,000

We're partnering with a global SaaS company to find two Software Engineers for one of their core platform teams.

This is a hands-on operational support engineering role. If you enjoy hunting down root causes and fixing them properly, you'll love it.

What you'll be doing

• Diagnosing provisioning failures across distributed services and recovering customer state
• Handling internal support requests using runbooks, and writing new ones where they don't exist
• Spotting failure patterns and fixing the root cause, then replaying failures in bulk
• Building tools and automation to reduce manual recovery work
• Improving dashboards, runbooks and knowledge base articles
• Leading initiatives to drive tooling and automation changes, and supporting the mid-level engineers as the senior engineer

What you'll bring

• 3 to 5 years (mid) or 5 to 7 years (senior) of software engineering experience
• Strong hands-on Java, ideally Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs
• Hands-on AWS experience
• AWS Step Functions or similar workflow orchestration (Lambda, Temporal, Camunda), plus SQS/SNS
• Proven production troubleshooting using logs and metrics (Splunk, SignalFx, Datadog or similar)
• A self-starter mindset and clear written communication of findings and impact

Nice to have: DynamoDB, Aurora/SQL, Gradle, OpenAPI, Pact contract testing, feature flags, scripting for bulk operations.
