What you’ll do
- Design and implement privacy-focused features that enhance user trust and comply with global privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to define privacy requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices in privacy and data protection.
- Develop and maintain robust testing frameworks to validate the functionality and security of privacy features.
- Monitor and analyze privacy-related metrics to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with legal standards.
- Work closely with legal and compliance teams to stay updated on evolving privacy laws and regulations.
- Participate in architecture discussions to ensure privacy considerations are integrated into the overall system design.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development by sharing knowledge and best practices in privacy engineering.
- Engage in troubleshooting and debugging of privacy-related issues, providing timely resolutions to enhance user experience.
- Contribute to documentation that outlines privacy features, policies, and procedures for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with data scientists to implement privacy-preserving techniques in data analysis and machine learning models.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to privacy and data protection, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our privacy posture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on privacy and data protection.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go, with a solid understanding of software engineering principles.
- Experience with privacy frameworks and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and others.
- Familiarity with cloud services and infrastructure, particularly AWS or Azure, as they relate to data privacy.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Nice to have
- Experience with privacy-enhancing technologies such as differential privacy or homomorphic encryption.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and practices.
- Knowledge of secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
