Senior Software Engineer, Windows/Desktop Applications - Turin, Italy

Speechify is looking for a skilled Windows desktop developer to lead the architecture and delivery of native Windows applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and possibly C++. You will collaborate with product designers, QA, and cross-functional teams to shape feature planning and drive accessibility across the platform.

In a distributed, global team, you will own features from concept to release and maintenance, ensuring performance, reliability, and cross-version compatibility.

Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications. Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase. Drive accessibility efforts and validate UI accessibility for users with disabilities. Collaborate with designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders on feature planning and roadmap. Own full lifecycle of features: conception to release and maintenance. Diagnose and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, and rendering issues. 3+ years in Windows desktop app development using Windows App SDK and WinUI, with C#/XAML, and ideally C++. Deep understanding of interop between managed and native Windows code. Proven track record building production-quality desktop apps with emphasis on reliability and performance. Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows and inclusive software. Solid fundamentals in OOP, patterns, data structures, algorithms, and multi-threading.
