Senior Software Safety Engineer

APT Research is hiring a Senior Software Safety Engineer in Dahlgren, VA. This position is mainly off-site with the requirement to go on-site for customer meetings.

Responsibilities:

• Navy Combat Systems experience
• Experience implementing system safety/software safety processes and methodologies.
• Working knowledge of MIL-STD-882 (series)
• Must have experience conducting or assisting in software and or firmware analyses.
• Must be able to develop technical solutions to complex problems.
• Must be able to ability to create briefings in PowerPoint and brief to a technical audience.
• Ability to analyze, research, assess, and organize technical data into cohesive and clear technical reports and presentations.
• Ability to organize, schedule, and facilitate technical meetings and working groups.
• Must be able to develop technical solutions to complex problems.
• Extensive experience in systems safety, with a proven track record of successfully mitigating hazards in complex systems.
• Understanding of risk and hazard assessment, mitigations and acceptance.

Required Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited institution and 8+ years experience in software
  Safety engineering

Security Clearance Requirement:

• Must have a SECRET level clearance or higher

This Position is Contingent upon Contract Funding
