Our client, a very large Federal Government Organisation, whose focus is on national security, emergency management, boarder control, immigration and multicultural affairs, require the services of a Senior Solution Infrastructure Engineer (EL1 equivalent).
Duties of the Senior Solution Infrastructure Engineer:
- Developing and maintaining technology infrastructure roadmaps aligned with broader business and IT strategies;
- Providing guidance and advice to IT leadership on emerging infrastructure trends, lifecycle management, and investment opportunities;
- Identifying opportunities within existing infrastructure to reduce technical debt, optimize costs, and unlock business value;
- Designing, networking and virtualizing solutions for core enterprise business systems.
Skills required:
- Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors moderately complex programs/scripts. Applies agreed standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered result;
- Designs large or complex systems and undertakes impact analysis on major design options and trade-offs. Ensures that the system design balances functional and non-functional requirements;
- Performs technical assessments and/or accreditation of complex or higher-risk information systems.
- Experience with operating systems (Windows, linux) VMware, Hyper-V, Gateway/Security services (Proxy, Load Balancing) Networking (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto) & Enterprise Database Platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2) Highly advantageous.
