Senior Solutions Architect

Key Deliverables/Responsibilities:

  • Proven experience designing and implementing technical solutions aligned to business objectives.

  • Strong capability to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technology decisions and technical direction.

  • Expertise in structured technical analysis, solution design, and application of architectural standards, principles, and recognised design patterns.

  • Demonstrated technical leadership across both public-facing and internal technology solutions.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture artefacts, including diagrams, functional specifications, and technical requirements documentation.

  • Experience refining, documenting, and maintaining Target Technical Architecture.

  • Proven ability to provide technical leadership to development teams and systems analysts, including technical design, work package breakdown, effort estimation, code and design reviews, and troubleshooting support.

  • Experience supporting project stakeholders with timeline, resource, and cost estimation, progress reporting, and technical guidance.

  • Ability to identify architectural gaps and provide feedback to Enterprise, Solutions, and Business Architects against Target Architecture.

  • Strong risk management skills, including monitoring, assessment, and mitigation of technical risks.

  • Experience contributing to Solutions Architecture and Technical Solutions Delivery team KPIs and performance objectives.

  • Proven ability to manage third-party delivery partners, including estimate validation, documentation and deliverable reviews, issue tracking, and performance feedback.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade, high-performance, mission-critical applications, including public websites, customer portals, CRM, document management, and telephony solutions.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, including SaaS, PaaS, iPaaS, containers, Kubernetes, Docker, serverless technologies, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience with relational databases, including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Dataverse.

  • Full-stack application design experience, including front-end technologies such as ReactJS, VueJS, Angular, Power Portals, and UI frameworks, and back-end technologies including Java, Spring, .NET (C#/VB.NET).

  • Expertise in systems integration using microservices, web services, event and message queues, and integration services.

  • Experience with workflow automation and low-code/no-code platforms, including Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, Power Apps, or equivalent technologies.

  • Strong understanding of application security models and secure solution design principles.

  • Experience working with Linux operating systems, including AlmaLinux, CentOS, and Red Hat.

  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases, including MongoDB.

  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including source control, continuous integration, infrastructure automation, continuous deployment, and Azure DevOps.

  • Strong understanding and application of architectural design patterns.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to rapidly learn and evaluate new technologies.

  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and provide technical direction.

  • Experience leading technology selection and making strategic technology recommendations.
