Description

Senior Solutions Architect

Contract | Hybrid (4 Days Onsite, 1 Day Remote)

Overview

FinXL IT Professional Services is a leading IT consultancy that partners with clients to bridge the gap between business needs and technology capabilities. Since 2003, we've been delivering high-value ICT services across financial services, telecommunications, government, and enterprise sectors.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect - Enterprise Applications to join our team representing FinXL on-site at our enterprise healthcare and retail client as they modernise, transform, and scale their vast technology landscape across corporate platforms, distribution centres, and extensive retail pharmacy networks.

In this role, you will play a central role in driving architecture design across a multi-stream, enterprise-scale ERP transformation program, championing clean-core principles and governing solutions across Finance, Supply Chain, Retail Platforms, HR, and Enterprise Data. Reporting to program leadership, you will bridge strategic business drivers with technical execution, leading architectural assurance through the Architecture Review Board and working closely with cross-functional teams, enterprise architects, and Global System Integrators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural definition across core business streams (Finance, Supply Chain & Logistics, Retail, HR/Workforce, and Data/Integration), ensuring direct traceability from strategic business drivers through capabilities, applications, integrations, and data flows.
  • Author comprehensive, high-quality architectural deliverables, including Solution Outline Documents, Detailed Solution Architecture Designs, integration models, and security/access frameworks.
  • Guide architecture across SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP MDG, and SAP SuccessFactors, advocating for clean-core methodologies and utilising BTP or SaaS extensibility over core ERP customisation.
  • Drive API-led and event-driven integration patterns, actively rationalising legacy point-to-point connections and aligning with strategic middleware direction.
  • Prepare and present structured submission packs to the Architecture Review Board, conducting thorough option analyses evaluating total cost of ownership, risk, complexity, licensing, and technical debt.
  • Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment with IAM standards (Microsoft Entra ID, SAP IAS/IPS, ServiceNow, Privileged Access controls) and enforce strict Master Data Governance controls across product, customer, supplier, and finance domains.
  • Partner closely with program directors, enterprise architects, and GSIs, challenging assumptions and maintaining technical discipline across multi-vendor delivery streams.

Key Requirements

  • 10+ Years Dedicated Experience and proven track record in enterprise solution architecture leading complex, large-scale ERP transformation programs.
  • Proven experience architecting large-scale SAP S/4HANA deployments, with practical knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), RISE, and cloud/SaaS deployment paradigms.
  • Hands-on experience designing API-first, event-driven architectures and integrating enterprise IAM frameworks (Entra ID, SAP IAS/IPS, RBAC/SoD models).
  • Demonstrated success taking enterprise designs through rigorous ARB processes, supported by structured trade-off matrices and commercial acumen.
  • Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence C-level executives, steering committees, and external system integrators.
  • Melbourne-based with full Australian working rights and the ability to work on-site at the Preston office 4 days per week.

Desirable Skills

  • Prior architecture experience within retail, wholesale distribution, FMCG, healthcare, or community pharmacy sectors.
  • Practical exposure to large-scale retail and supply chain convergence, warehouse logistics, or multi-channel inventory environments.
  • Specialised experience in master data rationalisation and canonical modelling using SAP MDG.
  • Experience operating within complex post-merger integration or large enterprise modernisation environments.

This role is open to Melbourne candidates only.
