Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Staff Algorithm Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and development of advanced LiDAR sensing and perception algorithms for next-generation autonomous and intelligent sensing systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Digital Signal Processing (DSP), LiDAR/Radar algorithms, computer vision, and embedded perception systems, with a proven track record of delivering production-ready sensor algorithm pipelines.
This role requires ownership of the complete algorithm stack—from signal processing and ranging to point cloud generation, object detection, tracking, and system validation—while collaborating closely with optics, firmware, embedded software, and systems engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
LiDAR Algorithm Development
Own the architecture, design, development, and optimization of LiDAR sensing algorithms, including:
Signal processing
Detection and ranging
Calibration
Point cloud generation and processing
Develop and maintain robust end-to-end algorithm pipelines from concept through production release.
Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
Lead DSP algorithm development and define signal-chain architecture.
Design and optimize processing stages such as:
Digital filtering
FFT-based processing
Peak detection
Noise suppression and mitigation
Detection and estimation techniques
Establish algorithm performance targets and define measurable verification criteria.
Computer Vision & Perception
Design and improve LiDAR-based perception algorithms, including:
Point cloud clustering
Object detection and classification
Multi-object tracking
Sensor fusion interfaces
Develop scalable perception solutions aligned with product roadmap requirements.
Analysis, Simulation & Validation
Conduct algorithm trade studies, simulations, and performance analysis.
Analyze laboratory and field test data to identify performance bottlenecks.
Drive continuous algorithm refinement through data-driven optimization.
System Integration
Define algorithm requirements, interfaces, and performance budgets.
Collaborate with firmware, embedded software, systems, and hardware teams to ensure traceability from sensor specifications to implementation.
Support algorithm deployment, integration, hardware bring-up, and validation activities.
Technical Leadership
Serve as the primary technical authority for sensing and perception algorithms.
Lead technical reviews, architecture discussions, and milestone assessments.
Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on critical engineering deliverables.
Drive cross-functional decision-making involving optics, DSP, firmware, software, and systems engineering teams.
