About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Staff Systems Engineer to lead the development, integration, and lifecycle management of next-generation LiDAR sensor products. This is a highly technical individual contributor role with significant cross-functional leadership responsibilities, combining hands-on systems engineering with technical guidance across multidisciplinary teams.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in sensor systems, opto-mechanical design, digital signal processing (DSP), and automotive systems engineering. You will own system architecture, requirements management, verification planning, and product integration activities while ensuring compliance with automotive standards including ASPICE, Functional Safety (ISO 26262), Cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434), and SOTIF (ISO 21448).
Key Responsibilities
Systems Architecture & Requirements Engineering
Own system architecture, requirements development, and design documentation for LiDAR sensor products.
Ensure full traceability from top-level performance requirements through subsystem specifications and implementation.
Define system interfaces, performance budgets, and verification strategies.
Cross-Functional System Integration
Lead architectural decomposition and integration across:
Optical systems
Opto-mechanical assemblies
Electronics and hardware
Firmware
DSP algorithms
Embedded software
Drive system-level trade-offs to optimize performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
Optics & Opto-Mechanical Engineering
Define and manage requirements related to:
Optical path design
Optical alignment
Mechanical packaging
Thermal stability
Structural integrity
Collaborate closely with optics and hardware teams to ensure sensor performance objectives are achieved.
DSP & Signal Processing Systems
Own DSP subsystem requirements and architecture.
Define signal processing performance targets and verification criteria.
