Discussion

Summary

Senior/Staff engineer on the product engineering and AI agents teams at a Series A/B industrial staffing tech company, bringing AI agents into production workflows for a labor marketplace. Day to day: building backend services, agent orchestration/eval harnesses, and matching/vetting pipelines with Python/TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and Kafka/RabbitMQ. On-site in San Francisco.

About the Role

Join the product engineering and AI agents teams at a Series A/B industrial staffing technology company. You will bring AI agents into production workflows and build the backend services and agent platform that support a labor marketplace and operational automation.

What You'll Do

  • Apply AI agents across workflows for sourcing, vetting, matching, and placing workers.

  • Build and evolve core backend systems, including real-time matching and automated vetting pipelines.

  • Design agent harnesses, orchestration patterns, evaluation systems, and model integrations.

  • Own platform architecture, and improve backend performance, reliability, and scale.

  • Partner across engineering and product to turn ambiguous operational needs into production systems.

  • Use customer workflows and field observations to inform technical decisions.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience for Senior roles, or 7 years for Staff roles, including end-to-end product ownership in early-stage teams.

  • Hands-on experience at a high-growth startup and a record of shipping impactful products in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.

  • Strong Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js skills, with experience designing APIs, data models, and distributed systems.

  • Experience with PostgreSQL and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

  • Production experience building agentic AI systems, including orchestration, evaluations, and model strategy.

  • Experience applying coding agents and taking open-ended problems to working prototypes.

  • Strong product intuition and ability to work across functions; marketplace, matching, recruiting, or operations-heavy industry experience is valuable.

  • Strong technical fundamentals and a track record of sustained contributions in engineering roles.
