About the Role

Join the product engineering team at a Series A industrial staffing and AI platform company. You will bring AI agents into real-world marketplace workflows and build the backend systems and platform that support staffing, worker matching, and operational automation.

What You'll Do

  • Define how AI agents are applied across product workflows, including sourcing, vetting, matching, and placement.

  • Design and lead core systems, including real-time matching and automated vetting pipelines.

  • Build and maintain scalable backend services and platform architecture for evolving product needs.

  • Improve system performance, reliability, and capacity while making pragmatic infrastructure decisions.

  • Partner with technical and cross-functional teams to turn ambiguous problems into production-ready solutions.

  • Contribute to agent harnesses, evaluation systems, orchestration patterns, and model strategy as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Typically 5 or more years of software engineering experience for Senior roles, or 7 or more years for Staff roles, with end-to-end product ownership.

  • Hands-on experience building products at fast-growing startups, including taking projects from early prototypes to production at scale.

  • Strong Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js skills, with experience designing APIs, distributed systems, and data models.

  • Experience with PostgreSQL and messaging or streaming systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

  • Experience shipping applied AI or agentic products, and familiarity with coding agents and rapid prototyping.

  • Strong product judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and an ability to work across teams and with operational users.

  • Relevant experience in AI, marketplaces, matching or recommendation systems, staffing, recruiting, or operational platforms is valuable.

  • Strong computer science fundamentals and a record of sustained contributions in engineering roles.
