Senior Staff Software Engineer, Solana Staking Protocol
You will serve as the definitive technical authority on Solana staking, owning technical strategy across validator operations, staking integrations, and protocol evolution. You will evaluate protocol upgrades, write production code, build infrastructure for validator operations, monitoring, automation, and reliability, represent the organization externally in the Solana ecosystem, and mentor engineers while guiding architecture and incident response.
Responsibilities
- Define multi-year Solana staking strategy and align engineering decisions with yield optimization and cost efficiency
- Maximize validator performance through vote accuracy, block production, MEV strategies, commission tuning, and stake distribution
- Evaluate protocol upgrades, assess risks, and maintain expertise in Solana runtime and validator client landscape
- Architect and implement scalable staking integrations across product surfaces
- Represent and influence the Solana ecosystem through external engagement and protocol governance
- Write production code and build critical infrastructure for validator operations, monitoring, automation, and reliability
- Mentor engineers, set technical standards, and lead architecture reviews and incident response
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with Solana architecture including runtime, validator mechanics, staking economics, consensus (Tower BFT), turbine, and Gulf Stream
- Deep familiarity with validator clients such as Agave and Firedancer
- Proven IC7-caliber engineering ability designing and building complex distributed systems
- Proficiency writing production code in Rust and/or Go
- Experience with infrastructure at scale including bare metal, cloud, networking, and observability
- Ability to define long-term technical strategies and break down ambiguous large-scope problems into executable plans
- Ecosystem presence with relationships or track record of public speaking, community engagement, or protocol governance participation
- Experience partnering effectively with product, business, and executive stakeholders
- Demonstrated responsible use of generative AI tools with human-in-the-loop practices
