Senior System Safety Engineer

APT Research is hiring a Senior Systems Safety Engineer in Dahlgren, VA. This position will be performed off-site with the requirement to be on-site for customer meetings.

Responsibilities:

• Navy Combat Systems Experience
• Experience implementing system safety/software safety processes and methodologies
• Working knowledge of MIL-STD-882 (series); during design, development, use, and maintenance of safety-critical software systems and their integration with safety-critical hardware systems.
• Able to develop technical solutions to complex problems.
• Able to create briefings in PowerPoint and brief to a technical audience.
• Ability to analyze, research, assess, and organize technical data into cohesive and clear technical reports and presentations
• Must be able to develop technical solutions to complex problems.
• Extensive experience in systems safety, with a proven track record of successfully mitigating hazards in complex systems.

Required Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited institution and 12+ years' of experience in system
  Safety engineering

Security Clearance Requirement:

• Must have a SECRET level clearance or higher

This Position is Contingent Upon Contract Funding
