Senior Systems Administrator
Salary: $85,991 – $116,080 per year
The Embassy of the United States of America in Wellington invites applications for a full-time position of a Senior Systems Administrator located in our Diplomatic Technology Office.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a small team as the Senior Systems Administrator, providing oversight of, but not limited to, Embassy Wellington’s Open Net Local Area Network (LAN). You will serve as a technical expert for systems analysis, design, development, configuration, operation and optimization of DoS unclassified networks. You will prioritize trouble tickets and ensure timely customer service response as outlined in the International Cooperative Administrative Support Service (ICASS) standards. The incumbent has regional support responsibility and provides back-up IT coverage to constituent Posts in Consulate Auckland. In addition, you will serve as the primary Telephone Technician for Post’s PABX and voice mail system, and manage vendor relationship and COR duties for telephone contracts at Post.
To be considered for this position you must meet the following requirements:
Completion of two years full time tertiary studies in Computer Science or Information Systems;
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or equivalent Cisco certifications
Three years of IT-related technical experience as a systems analyst, systems administrator or network administrator;
Knowledge of telecommunication services, and good understanding of PABX and telephone systems;
Demonstrated technical skills in trouble-shooting operational problems and resolving complex hardware and software issues in order to maintain operational capability and readiness of computer systems.
The salary range for this position is NZD $85,991.00 - $116,080.00 per annum (actual starting salary will be commensurate with experience and internal equities).
