Job Overview
Seeking a Senior
Systems Support Engineer to support laboratory instruments, software, and
networked systems used across R&D and Clinical Operations. This role has a strong
focus on networking and connectivity, along with hands-on instrument
installation, qualification, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Install,
relocate, deinstall, qualify, and perform preventive maintenance and
repairs on laboratory instruments and systems.
- Troubleshoot
instrument hardware, software, and network connectivity issues and perform
root-cause analysis.
- Manage
IP addressing and connectivity for networked laboratory instruments.
- Configure
and troubleshoot Fortigate firewalls, VLANs, switches, routing,
DNS/DHCP, and related network infrastructure.
- Provide
onsite and remote IT/networking support for R&D and laboratory
environments.
- Manage
service requests and coordinate/triage issues through ServiceNow.
- Document
service, maintenance, and qualification activities accurately in equipment
management systems.
- Execute
and support IQ/OQ qualification activities and work within applicable
FDA/ISO requirements.
- Provide
technical guidance and training to team members as expertise develops.
Required Qualifications
- Associate
degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science,
IT/Networking, or equivalent experience.
- 5+
years of experience supporting medical/laboratory equipment and/or
networked systems in R&D, hospital, or clinical laboratory
environments.
- Hands-on
experience with IP addressing/subnetting, VLANs, switches, routers, and
firewalls.
- Direct
experience configuring and troubleshooting Fortigate or similar
firewall/network security appliances.
- Working
knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewall rules.
Preferred
- Networking
certification such as CCNA, Network+, or Fortinet certification.
