Senior Technical Architect - Employee - Relocation to Brussels

Senior Technical Architect designs and implements software systems for European institutions in Brussels, focusing on Java/Spring-based architectures, REST APIs, and Oracle databases.
We are urgently looking for a Senior Technical Architect for the European Institutions in Brussels, Belgium. Travel is not required for the interviews.
EU candidates are welcome to apply. Candidates need to be willing to relocate. A work permit is required. This position is open for contractors and employees. Candidates need to be fluent in English.

Tasks and responsibilities:
- Define the software architecture, the components of an application and their interactions;
- Conduct quality review of the modelling activities done by UML Designer and Application Engineer;
- Work in strong collaboration with the Business Architect;
- Responsible for technological mentoring and takes part in implementation, specifically that of critical components;
- Draw up an architecture by defining the components which are best suited to the functional and technological constraints;
- Implement the proposed architecture;
- Impact analysis: measure the impact of technical requirements on the existing system and suggest priorities;
- Component modelling;
- Transfer of knowledge to the development team;
- Monitoring developments;
- Integrate third-party solution with a system/an application;
Profile:
- Bachelor or University degree;
+8 / +15 years of IT work experience;
- Ability to work on web based or system-to-system applications collaboratively with a team of developers using GIT repositories and Atlassian stack tools (Jira/Confluence/Bamboo/etc.);
- Experience with data modelling, databases (Oracle) and application architecture/skeleton set-up;
- Experience with REST APIs, Java, Spring(Boot, MVC), GraphQL, Hibernate;
- A good understanding of UX best practices, and Angular/Material Design UI frameworks or CSS systems such as SASS to compile style files is a plus;
- Fluent in English;
