Senior - UX Designer
Summary
Lead UX design for web/mobile using Figma, conducting user research and testing to create accessible interfaces within an Agile, onsite environment.
Overview
We are seeking a skilled UX Designer to create intuitive, user-friendly, and visually engaging digital experiences. The ideal candidate will take a user-centered design approach, conduct research, and translate insights into impactful design solutions across web and mobile platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver user-centric interfaces for web, mobile, and digital platforms
- Translate user research insights into user flows, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes
- Conduct and lead user research activities (interviews, usability testing, A/B testing, etc.)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and align product vision and UX strategy
- Create and iterate designs based on user feedback and usability testing
- Develop information architecture and service design blueprints
- Identify usability issues and deliver elegant, scalable design solutions
- Ensure designs align with design systems and accessibility standards
- Work within Agile/Sprint environments and support iterative product development
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in UX/UI design for web and mobile applications
- Proven expertise in user research methodologies:
- User interviews
- Usability testing
- A/B testing
- Card sorting, diary studies, usability metrics
- Ability to synthesize research insights into:
- Personas
- Journey maps
- Service blueprints
- Affinity diagrams
- Hands-on experience with Figma and other design/prototyping tools
- Experience designing with design systems (Ontario Design System preferred)
- Strong understanding of Agile product development cycles (Discovery → Beta → Live)
- Ability to deliver:
- Wireframes
- Mockups
- Interactive prototypes

- Knowledge of Accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA standards)
- Experience with Ontario Design System & Digital Service Standards
- Experience working with legacy systems and complex stakeholder environments
- Strong accessibility-first design approach
Public Sector Experience
- Previous experience working with Ontario Public Service (OPS) or similar government environments is an asset
Work Environment
- Onsite Requirement: 5 days/week
- Work Model: Agile, sprint-based delivery
