Summary

ScaleJet is hiring a full-time remote Senior Video Editor for its client Veicolo Agency, a growth marketing agency serving luxury and high-end eCommerce brands. The editor produces 2-3 polished long-form YouTube presenter videos weekly using a professional NLE (Premiere/Resolve/FCP), After Effects, and CapCut, with color grading, sound mixing, and retention-focused editing.

Our client, Veicolo Agency, is a growth marketing agency working with fashion, luxury, and high-end eCommerce brands. They are looking for an exceptionally talented Video Editor with an elite aesthetic eye, heavy mastery of a professional NLE (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar), and a strong portfolio in long-form "talking head" and presenter-style videos.

In this role, you will be responsible for editing 2 to 3 high-caliber, long-form YouTube videos per week that align with our high standards of luxury branding, polished visual storytelling, and clean post-production execution. While long-form presenter content is your primary focus, an interest in direct-response ad creative development and transforming long-form content into short-form assets (Reels/TikTok/Shorts) is a great bonus.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Edit long-form content: Edit 2-3 polished, studio-grade long-form YouTube videos per week featuring presenter/talking-head footage, maintaining flawless audio balance, elegant color grading, dynamic pacing, and refined on-screen typography.

  • Maintain luxury visual standards: Protect and elevate brand visual identity across all cuts, ensuring graphics, visual hooks, B-roll selection, and transitions reflect high-end, premium brand aesthetics.

  • Design and animate on-screen graphics: Build and animate full-screen cards, kinetic text, and creative typographic lockups in After Effects or comparable tool that hold attention and stay true to the brand.

  • Support ad development & creative testing (bonus/secondary): Collaborate with our creative strategists to develop high-converting video ad concepts, test visual hooks, and chop key insights from long-form content into short-form assets (Reels/TikTok/Shorts). Quick-turn short-form edits can be cut in CapCut.

  • Streamline post-production workflow: Organize raw footage, manage project files cleanly in your NLE and After Effects, use AI tools to speed up repetitive tasks, and deliver sound-mixed, color-corrected, export-ready cuts efficiently on schedule.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven long-form portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating advanced editing skills in long-form YouTube, presenter, or talking-head style videos (clean pacing, typography, seamless B-roll integration, and professional color grading).

  • Professional NLE mastery: Advanced, hands-on expert proficiency in a professional NLE such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer, plus working fluency in CapCut for quick-turn short-form edits.

  • Animation & motion graphics: Strong After Effects skills, specifically for full-screen cards: animating text, building creative typographic lockups, and bringing static graphics to life with clean, restrained motion suited to a luxury brand.

  • AI-assisted workflow: Hands-on experience using AI tools to speed up the workflow (e.g., transcription and text-based editing, AI audio cleanup, rotoscoping and masking, generative fill, upscaling) and integrating them into your After Effects and NLE pipeline without compromising quality.

  • Editorial judgment & pattern recognition: Experience editing a high volume of similar presenter-led videos, giving you the pattern recognition and discernment to know when to cut, when to hold, when to punch in, and where to place B-roll, graphics, and text. You vary pacing across a video instead of cutting at one flat rhythm.

  • Pacing & emotion: Ability to adjust pacing, take selection, and cut points so the edit evokes the intended emotion, letting a key line breathe or building momentum into a payoff so each section lands the way it's meant to feel.

  • Retention-first editing: Retention-based editing is the core of this role. Every cut is built to keep viewers watching: a strong first 30 seconds, pattern interrupts where attention dips, clear chapters and end screens, and YouTube Studio retention data used to sharpen the next edit.

  • Current on YouTube trends & editing styles: You actively follow what's working on YouTube right now, from top creators in business and education to new editing techniques, motion design trends, and shifts in how audiences watch. You bring fresh, cutting-edge ideas to each edit and know how to adapt them to a luxury look without chasing gimmicks.

  • Working with raw footage across multiple takes: Comfortable sorting through raw footage from multiple takes, plus unscripted, conversational answers, pulling selects, choosing the strongest delivery, and stitching it all into one tight, clear narrative.

  • Weaving impromptu Q&A into the script: Our shoots mix scripted teleprompter reads with candid, unscripted Q&A recorded between chapters, and those answers get cut into the video as if they were part of the script. You have the judgment to pick the moments worth keeping, trim the rambles without losing the personality, and match energy, tone, and pace across takes so scripted and impromptu sections flow together and the whole video feels natural.

  • Flawless aesthetic eye: Demonstrated ability to execute elevated visual design and storytelling suitable for luxury, fashion, or high-end DTC brands.

  • Color correction & grading: Strong color skills, including grading 8-bit mirrorless camera footage cleanly (no banding, crushed shadows, or shifting skin tones) and matching shots across multiple takes.

  • High-CTR thumbnails: Experience designing YouTube thumbnails in Photoshop or similar that earn the click while matching the channel's visual identity.

  • Sound mixing & audio engineering: Strong audio skills from an editor's standpoint: clean dialogue edits, noise reduction and EQ, syncing external audio to camera, music beds balanced and ducked under the voice, sound design that supports what's on screen, and final mixes delivered at YouTube loudness standards (around -14 LUFS integrated). You treat sound as a retention tool, not an afterthought.

  • Briefs & creative direction: Ability to follow detailed edit briefs and asset guides (numbered graphics, text overlays, chapter cards) while taking creative direction from, and collaborating closely with, our content director: bringing your own ideas, folding in feedback quickly, and keeping the director's vision intact. You check every placement against the actual frame so graphics never cover the presenter, proof every on-screen word against the voiceover, and use only properly licensed music, stock, and imagery.

  • Consistent output: Proven track record of consistently editing and delivering 2-3 complete long-form video projects per week without sacrificing quality or brand precision.

  • Communication & reliability: High attention to detail, strong time management skills, and clear professional English communication for seamless team alignment.

  • Capable editing hardware: Your own workstation powerful enough to edit 4K, high-bitrate footage smoothly in real time (strong CPU and GPU, ample RAM, and fast SSD storage), plus a reliable high-speed connection for moving large project files.

BONUS POINTS

  • Interest or experience in direct-response performance ad development (Meta, YouTube Ads, TikTok Ads).

  • Experience re-purposing long-form content into short-form, high-engagement Reels, TikToks, or Shorts.

  • Experience working with or within digital marketing/creative agencies in fashion, luxury, or consumer e-commerce.

  • Understanding of photography, videography, and cinematography: setting the subject in the right light, keen exposure control, framing and lens choice, and the ability to create a cinematic feel for presenter videos, both on set and in post.

JOB DETAILS

  • Format: Full-time, long-term remote contractor position.

  • Schedule: Minimum 4-hour daily overlap with US Pacific Time (PT) working hours (e.g., 8am-12pm PT).
