Description

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional motion design experience in an agency or in-house role, with a portfolio that shows performance-driven marketing work, not just brand pieces.
  • Strong motion fundamentals: timing, easing, spacing, anticipation and follow-through, camera and typographic animation, and confident video editing and pacing.
  • Equally strong design fundamentals: typography, layout, color, hierarchy, and composition. A large share of our motion work starts as a static asset you design yourself, and you'll also produce static ad creative and collateral outright. We are hiring a designer who animates, not an animator who needs designs handed to them.
  • Storyboard-first process: you plan and design in Figma before you animate, and you can present a storyboard that a marketer can give feedback on before production begins.
  • Performance mindset: you understand what makes a Meta ad stop the scroll, you care about hook rates and thumb-stop ratios, and you treat shipped creative as a hypothesis to be tested.
  • Speed and volume: we're growing significantly every month, and rapid creative production is at the center of it. You ship fast without letting craft slip.
  • Attention to detail: you understand how the smallest choices subconsciously shape how a viewer feels about a brand, and you start from the ICP, not the artboard.
  • Organization: you can keep tabs on many assets across many channels, communicate status clearly, and hit deadlines.
  • AI fluency: you already use AI tools in your day-to-day production workflow and have a point of view on where they help and where they don't.

Tools and Proficiencies:

Design:

  • Figma (expert): storyboarding, static ad and web design, UI mockups, prototyping, and component-based design systems. This is where most assets begin.
  • Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (advanced): static creative, image retouching and compositing, vector illustration, iconography, and print-ready collateral.

Motion:

  • Adobe After Effects (expert): motion graphics, compositing, UI and typographic animation, expressions, and plugin workflows.
  • Adobe Premiere Pro (advanced): video editing, pacing, sound design basics, and multi-format exports.

AI production:

  • Higgsfield (proficient): generating AI footage, b-roll, and brand assets, and directing camera motion for rapid concepting and production of ad creative.
  • Claude (proficient): scripting, hook and copy variations, creative briefs, research, and workflow automation.

Sourcing and workflow:

  • Envato (proficient): sourcing and adapting templates, stock footage, music, and sound effects efficiently.
  • Frame.io : review, versioning, and asset organization.

Nice to Have:

  • Blender: 3D modeling and rendering for product and card visuals.
  • Cavalry: procedural and data-driven motion design.
  • Rive (or Lottie): interactive, web-native animation for landing pages and product UI.
  • Exposure to additional AI video and image tools (Runway, Kling, Midjourney, Sora) and a willingness to evaluate new ones.
  • Experience in fintech, finance, B2B SaaS, or other high-trust categories.
  • Experience working directly with paid media buyers or a growth team.
