About the Role

Our client, a leading online retailer in the agricultural technology sector, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Web Developer (Full-Stack) & E-commerce Specialist to join their innovative team in Upington, Northern Cape, ZA . This role is critical in developing, maintaining, and optimizing our e-commerce platform, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience for our diverse customer base. You will be responsible for both front-end and back-end development, working with modern technologies to build scalable, high-performance web applications. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in full-stack development, significant experience with e-commerce platforms, and a passion for creating robust, user-friendly online solutions. You will play a key role in driving the technical aspects of our online sales strategy and contributing to the growth of our digital footprint.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the company's e-commerce website, including both front-end user interfaces and back-end functionalities.
• Implement new features and enhancements to improve user experience, conversion rates, and overall site performance.
• Integrate with third-party services, such as payment gateways, shipping providers, and CRM systems.
• Optimize website performance for speed, scalability, and security.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using languages such as JavaScript, Python, PHP, or similar.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate wireframes and mockups into functional web pages.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest web development technologies, trends, and e-commerce best practices.
• Contribute to technical architecture discussions and decision-making.
• Ensure the website is responsive and provides an optimal experience across all devices and browsers.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in full-stack web development, with a strong focus on e-commerce platforms.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (including frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js).
• Strong experience with back-end development languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Django, Ruby on Rails, Laravel).
• Experience with database management (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Proven experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify Plus, Magento, WooCommerce).
• Understanding of SEO principles and how to implement them in web development.
