Summary
Senior Workday Reporting Specialist who designs, builds, tests, and maintains Workday HCM reports using Report Writer, Calculated Fields, Dashboards, Discovery Boards, and Workday Security. Also handles tenant report migrations, testing/documentation, performance tuning, and training of report writers. Remote role.
Job Summary :
We are looking for an experienced Senior Workday Reporting Specialist with strong hands-on expertise in Workday HCM reporting and report development. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining the Workday reporting portfolio.
The ideal candidate should have advanced expertise in Workday Report Writer, Calculated Fields, Dashboards, Discovery Boards, and Workday Security, along with a strong understanding of the Workday HCM data model.
Key Responsibilities :
Workday Report Design & Development :
- Design, develop, and maintain different Workday report types, including Simple, Advanced, Matrix, Composite, Trending, and Transposed reports.
- Build and maintain dashboards, Discovery Boards, and worklets for HR teams, managers, and executives.
- Create and manage advanced Calculated Fields, Custom Report Data Sources, and Report Prompts.
- Develop reports to support integrations using Reports-as-a-Service (RaaS) and Workday Web Services.
- Configure report sharing, scheduling, bursting, and output formats.
- Implement appropriate Workday domain security, business process security, and security group configurations.
- Optimise report performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve reporting defects.
- Follow standard naming conventions, development practices, and report reusability guidelines.
Testing, Deployment & Governance :
- Prepare and maintain unit testing documentation and supporting test evidence.
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and Business Acceptance Testing (BAT).
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects during testing and deployment.
- Manage report migration across Workday tenants in accordance with release management processes.
- Follow Workday Reporting Governance Framework, including reporting standards, ownership, and lifecycle management.
- Prepare functional and technical design documentation for all developed reports.
Knowledge Transfer & Support :
- Train Workday report writers and key users on report usage and basic report development.
- Prepare user guides, technical documentation, and a comprehensive report catalogue.
- Provide post-Go-Live hypercare and resolve reporting-related issues.
- Ensure smooth knowledge transfer and handover to the application support team.
Mandatory Technical Skills :
- Strong hands-on experience in Workday HCM reporting and report development.
- In-depth knowledge of Workday HCM data models, including Workers, Positions, Organisations, and Compensation.
- Expertise in Workday Report Writer, particularly Advanced, Matrix, and Composite Reports.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Workday Calculated Fields.
- Experience with Custom Report Data Sources and Report Prompts.
- Strong knowledge of Workday Dashboards, Discovery Boards, and Worklets.
- Understanding of Workday Security, including Domain Security, Business Process Security, and Security Groups.
